Committee For Economic Development
Model United Nations Topics Stuck?
Okay I’m doing MUN and first off here is the Committee and Resolutions as follows.
2nd Committee: Economic and Financial.
1. The international economic impact of copyright violation.
2. Addressing climate change in the context of national sustainable development strategies.
3. The exploitation of Africa by industrialized and industrializing countries.
4. Debt relief for heavily indebted countries.
It all seems basic, however the nation selected for me is the Marshall Islands, for which I have no idea on the impact they have on these issues.
Please help, ideas on this question will go towards each clause but mainly towards an introduction.
1 not supported as a poor nation we cant afford copyright – it will upset the budget. we will follow china’s example!?
2 urgent action required of all countries as sea levels r rising. MI will sink!
3 must stop as it will also not stop them from exploiting MI – our economy is also growing and we dont want MI to be a dumping ground for american tobacco, liquor, junk cars, trash etc
4 should be supported and also work towards reducing corruption. debt relief must come with development work. this will reduce bribes etc
