Community Development Employment Program

The advantages of rural development and its necessity in the overall growth and development of the country..?

Why is it necessary for the socio-ecocomic development of both the entire community and its environs, what Government should in these regard if possible to help uplift the poverty sticken people. How it is important to involve the people in their programmes and policies. How the people can feel the presence of Government in their communities. Why the people should not be neglected becauce of circumstances surrounding them. Why the people should be educated and much awareness given to them about the happenings of the society. How Fund allocated to the people can be used for the purposes for which it is given. Why they should have a say in the polical arena and not be intimated by anybody no matter how highly placed in the society. The need for constructive development in terms of housing, schools, hospitals, roads, modenized agriculture, electricity, portable water, bridges, employment opportunities, improved income earnings etc.Why persons appointed to serve the people should be responsible.

Rural development of the country (and in any country) is first and foremost the best way to get farm goods to the market quickly and economically. Fresh foods are essential to health and development, and the rural country needs to have light, power, water and other necessities for communication, transportation and health.

But that is only the beginning of development, because a country whose people live in poverty and ignorance, is a country that is destined to whither on the vine. Just like we should not waste our natural resorces, we can not wast our greatest resource, the talent and giftedness of our people.

A government is necessary for building infrastructure in a country, and especially for rural areas. Generally the government directs the project, hiring many contractors. By developing areas within the country, the product of the country increases, and the country can increase its trade with other countries as well. This increases our country’s wealth providing us capital for future development.

The government should not neglect the people, it is bad policy, and this alienation, especially in a time of need, will grow a bad outlook and negative feeling that is hard to dissolve. Internal goodwill of the citizens is essential to the unity and resolve of the nation. You notice in times of trouble and of war, it is generally the rural men who take up the cause to fight. Neglecting them and their families is not the way to build pride and loyalty.

People appointed to public service, must be aware that theirs is a responsibility to serve the common good of the nation or community. When the public is cheated by the fraudulent practices of public service, they are cheated with their own money. The confidence of the nation is greatly diminished.

An example of the very terrible use of government services is in the case of New Orleans. It is a terrible blot on the name and reputation of our country, that our poor people are neglected, and this city lies in ruin.

When the poor fight for recognition in a country dedicated to accepting the poor of the world (motto of the Statue of Liberty)
people take heart in the battle and join sides to defeat the oppression of poverty. Many of our greatest leaders came from a poor and rural background. I have written a small article about a favorite son of America, that answers part of your question.
Article excerpted here…

WHO WAS ABRAHAM LINCOLN?

Abraham Lincoln was the greatest investor in human capital in the history of our country.

I am willing to make this statement for the following reasons:

-Abraham Lincoln himself came from a poor rural background, determined to educate himself and follow his intellectual capability and innate sense of moral value about the potential of the human being, created in the image and likeness of God.

-Abraham Lincoln believed that all people were part of the American tradition of Law and Freedom. He preserved the Union “One Nation under God” and determined to give equal opportunity “with liberty and justice for all.” He invested his life and his very soul in the preservation of our nation, by word and by deed.

-Abraham Lincoln was honest in all of his dealings, and treasured the bond of his word to the American people. He wrote personal letters to the mothers of soldiers. He suffered to make all people free. He started the process of healing the great divide that separated peoples. He understood the economics of salvation.

-If Abraham Lincoln were alive today, he would help to make free the Mexican Migrant, the Iraqian soldier, the Afghan school child… To him, all of them need opportunity. This is a foundational principal.

-Abraham Lincoln believed in Free Enterprise, the moral basis of Capitalism, the true application of our foundations of law and liberty.

-Abraham Lincoln was Father to a nation. He believed in the basic economic principals of Capitalism. One principal is that Investment in Capital follows Mitigation of Risk. To create a safe and productive society where development of our peoples and livelihood flourish, we must abide by a strong foundation of good moral law and leading economic principal.

Limitless Capacity and Boundless Potential is founded in our Intellectual Capacities and Giftedness to find solutions to energy needs and resource potential. The only limit on the human person is the one we put on ourselves.

As our parents and faith traditions have taught us: we can do anything we put our minds down to. Faith is the foundation of a free society. Become a partner and investor with Abraham Lincoln’s View of American Freedom and help to free the people through Human Capital Development.

Take hold of the ‘Vision of global peace and security’. Let Lady Liberty burn in the hearts of all with that hope-filled prayer: God Bless America, stand beside her and guide her… to export her ways of peace.

In the words of Lincoln, “A government by the people and for the people…conceived in liberty and dedicated to the purpose that all men are created equal.”

The Gettysburg Address: The Conclusion…
It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us. . .that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion. . . that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. . . that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom. . . and that this government of the people. . .by the people. . .for the people. . . shall not perish from the earth. “
