Community Development Plan
Home developer pulls out of community development before finished.?
My husband and I purchased a new townhouse two years ago in a gated upscale community. At the time we were told that the community would be completed by the original builder, Parkview Homes. Since then the builder has pulled out of the project (due to a lack of income on the property sales). The community has 31 current residents and in order to be complete needs to build/sell 24 more townhomes. A new home builder, MI Homes, will be building different townhomes at a lower price point and of a lesser quality to finish out the community. The original builder who sold the land to MI Homes refuses to sell the original design plans to the new builder which means that the new builder will be building completely different townhomes than were originally planned for the community. What are my options? We know that our home value will go down. We are just trying to mitigate a huge property value loss. Please provide any insight you may have on this issue.
