The Saskatchewan Economic Development Association (SEDA) works to enhance the economic capacity of Saskatchewan communities. In 2007-08, CISP support will be put toward several initiatives: training for economic development practitioners in order to increase their awareness; skill development and professionalism with respect to business development issues; economic base analysis; business development projects; business retention and expansion; and venture capital for community development and foreign investment attraction. As well, SEDA will undertake training opportunities through EDAC, BREI, and SEDA training modules. CISP support will also provide training and professional development opportunities for REDA youth interns.

The Community Support Program has approved over $100,00.00 to fund the Saskatchewan Economic Development Association, which is devoted to enhancing the community’s economic capacity.
The funds will support programs that train REDA youth interns and economic development practitioners to develop their business skills, including professionalism, business development projects, business retention and expansion, economic base analysis, and venture capital for community development and foreign investment attraction.
The Association will incorporate training models from the Economic Development Association of Canada and the Business Retention and Expansion International Program.
