Help!!!!!1 I have MUN (model united nations) in a week! HELP!!?
Ok so im in committee two. And under EGYPT.
I dont know anything about egypt or anything im supposed to know..
the main UN topic going to be discussed is Human Trafficking.
heres what i need to know..:
1) The role of agriculture in sustainable development. (in egypt)
2) Economic and social hardships faced by member nations (of egypt) during the rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking.
3) Promoting long term economic stability of developing countries via scientific research
4) implications of the proliferation of economic and monetary unions with emphasis on trade.
all the above topics have to involve egypt.
I need as MUCH as possible informaiton on each of these topics. APPROPRIATE INFO please..
and please put the answers to each topic under the numbers given above so it is in order..
Thanks so much.
Please ask me if you need anything made more clear
1) Egypt is one of the largest producers of natural cotton, so I would say that cotton agriculture plays a big role in the Egyptian economy, As for how it links to sustainable development, you might want to google it and find steps taken by the government and individual organizations to ensue that resources aren’t depleted and steps taken to sustain development in the future.
2) The main economic and social hardships faced would be general to any member state let alone Egypt with respect to rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking You might want to research this further from the Egyptian government’s point of view but I would think that rehabilitating would have a large opportunity cost for the government which would come under economic hardships and integrating these victims into the Egyptian society would have its own social problems.
3) Egypt being in Northern Africa and having several LEDC neighbors has taken several steps to ensure economic stability of its neighbor member states. As for the scientific research part, you may once again want to look into it further.
4) With the proliferation of economic and monetary unions, I would expect that the Egyptian government would be unhappy as it would mean excess of middlemen which would in turn affect the overall revenue and GDP of the country. Look for increasing number of such unions within Egypt and study for their significance on the overall development of the country.
I hope that helped you in some ways and gave you guiding points to your overall questions at hand.
