Economic Development Professionals
Masters degree or professional certificate, which is more beneficial?
HELP… I have an issue. I currently have a Bachelor Degree in Urban Development /Urban Planning. With the economic being the way it is i was laid off and had to find alternate work in Banking. Now that in this field I figure I would stick to it and continue pursuing a career. Now, my degree certainly isn’t required for this type of job nor is it even valued “currently”. Should I pursue a MBA in Banking and Finance or just muddle along like everyone else hoping to get a promotion after year of hard work with a professional certificate in Financial Planning. I just done want to waste my MONEY. MBA 15K Certificate 2K.
There is no such thing as MBA in Banking. The MBA is a Master in Business Administration. It trains you for management position at any level up to CEO. You can get an MS in banking or finance. You don’t waste money getting an MBA. But it’s your decision. In the long run, it pays off. To find the right MBA program, use the Official MBA Guide, a free public service.
