Impact Of Economic Development

What impact did the Civil War have on the political and economic developments in the North/South/West?

I’m stupid, apparently and I can’t think of anything. Help is MUCH appreciated!

One of the strange “benefits” of a war is that once it is over, the economy usually surges. In the case of the Civil War the resources that were depleted had to be resupplied, and with the growth of settlements into the West, there were gigantic new markets to tackle. The period from 1865-1929 (The Great Depression) were those of incredible economic growth in all three areas. When you add to the mix the number of men killed in the Civil War, in most areas that caused a tremendous need for labor that couldn’t be supplied, increasing wages for those areas. All wars generate economies; the more impactful the war, the greater the economic surge.
