Why has the average wealth of some developed nations surpassed that of the US during the past decade?

During the past decade several developed nations, including France and Sweden, have surpassed the United States in terms of average wealth. The recent analysis by Credit Suisse in its Global Wealth Report shows an interesting trend. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also finds that there is more upward mobility in Europe. What accounts for this?
